Drama society

This activity is supervised by Jan Karczewski. The circle numbers 10 people. Its repertoire consists of dramatic plays and poetical works in the Belarussian language.




Ecological Club

The ecological club has existed since 1993. Its members participate in various pro-ecological activities organized by the Hajnówka Town Council (for example Clear the World Action). They cooperate with the Center of Ecological Education in Białowieża, and take part in the All-Poland Ecological Camp taking leading places in the organized there competitions (both individually and as a team). Every year gathered in the club students participate with great success in the Ecological and the Environment Protection Contests. In the school year 1999/2000 thematic sections of the club were created.




Vocal group “Zniczka”




The vocal group “Zniczka” was created in September 1995. Originally it consisted of schoolgirls from I-III classes. Its artistic director became Bożena Lewczuk. Since the very beginning the group has actively participated in the school life taking part in different school events. It made its professional stage debut at the Festival of Belarussian Song winning II place at the central stage of the festival. In 1998 the group acquired its present name “Zniczka”. It was awarded the cup of prime minister W. Cimoszewicz, and the prize of Radio Białystok - a recording session, which enabled the group publish its first record “Szczasliwy walsok”. “Zniczka” performs at school and town events as well as folk fairs. It took part in the Festival of National Minorities in Gdańsk, the Meetings of National Minorities in Puńsk, the Regional Meetings with Carols. The group sang at the Bard Autumn in Bielsk Podlaski, and at the jubilee concert contributed to the 50 anniversary of the existence of our school. The present members of the group: - Ilona Karpiuk - Barbara Kendyś - Julita Wawrzeniuk - Monika Rusak - Marta Gredel - Katarzyna Kuczko - Małgorzta Jańczuk - Anna Sadowska - Anna Skiepko - Joanna Jańczuk. In its repertoire “Zniczka” has Bielarussian folk songs, songs of contemporary Belarussian composers, and various poetical works.



Piano lessons

Piano lessons are available to everyone interested, once or twice a week. At the moment 12 pupils participate in them. Piano lessons take place after scheduled classes or in between. The lessons are attended by pupils from classes I-III and I gymnasium.




Belarussian Affairs Club

The club, founded in 1998, currently numbers 10 members. It is supervised by Eugeniusz Jańczuk and aims at:
- learning about history
- culture
- ethnography
- folk traditions of our region
